Virtual Expeditions

READ

remote training

Our virtual expeditions are a fun, playful and a unique way to learning Agile and Scrum.

Through this platform we made it possible for you to be guided by experienced and certified Scrum Trainers, getting access to gold-standard training content - at affordable rates. You can take these virtual expeditions matching your own availability and budget.

The platform of choice are Zoom and Miro. Miro transforms the training into an immersive experience, enabling participants to engage in workshops, brainstorming sessions, and beautiful visual exercises - almost as if they were in the same room.

Our Miro expeditions are professionally designed - to really immerse participants. With Miro's digital canvas, the abstract concepts of Agile and Scrum take on concrete form, making it tangible. It's our playground. Discussions flow naturally, as if you were all seated around the same table. You will often pair up or form triads or little squads.

With interactive plays, the guide helps you unpack the essence of Agile, Scrum, and practice becoming proficient in applying coaching and facilitation techniques.

Guides help foster an environment where everyone can be their true courageous selves. Together they foster the conditions where participants can feel safe to express themselves and try new things.

Participants share stories of triumphs and trials, ambitions and apprehensions. Bonds are formed, transcending borders, creating a network of support that extends long after the expeditions end.

Some virtual expeditions may take as long as a day - but don't worry - we'll keep you fresh and energized. There are plenty of breaks, some short, some long. There will be movement too - to keep your oxygen and blood flowing through your brain instead of your butt.

The content will also be served in small slices - so as to avoid you cognitively overloading your synapses.

PREPARING YOUR VIRTUAL EXPEDITION

Our virtual expeditions require active participation - not passive attendance.
We expect participants so show up focused and energized.

Here are some tips and tricks on how to prepare:

Environment:
Join from a space where you are comfortable. You need to be able to speak openly. It's best to join from an uninterrupted environment with no (or minimal) background activity. Consider using two screens - if possible - one for Zoom and one for Miro.

Materials:
We want to make our training as tangible as possible. You also want to write things down that should not be public on the board for all to see. Therefore, prepare a notepad, markers and sticky-notes.

Setup:
Check if your internet connection is stable and fast. Zoom and Miro can be demanding on your connection. A bad connection can disrupt your training. So make sure any non-essential apps are closed. Close your mail and other messaging apps. Don't download anything in the background.

Make sure Zoom is installed before the training - and test your audio and video.
This way we can have a flying start.

Get familiar with using Miro. You can try our Miro playground.

Your communcation will be more powerful if we can hear and see you well.
Therefore, we have a “camera on” guideline.

Please position your camera so that you look in its general direction with clear lighting. Eye contact and body language matter as we practice coaching.

We discourage the use of background filters - they render you flat and jittery. Your visual presentation matters a lot in virtual coaching and facilitation. Background filters may also mask things that you want to show to other participants - like what you draw and write on notes.

Think about the power of your voice and how it helps others resonate with your message. We want to hear each other clearly. It's worth investing in a professional microphone/headset.

Personal needs:
If you have any specific needs to limitations - please share them with your guide prior to the training. Anything you share with them is confidential. The'll respect your privacy. This way, they can adapt the training and deliver the best experience for you. Our guides are considerate about neuro-diversity.

TBR-VE

All virtual expedition are designed using the standards and formats set in Training from the BACK of the Room - Virtual Edition or TBR-VE tm in short - a gold-standard in facilitating learning.

This way, we create the best virtual experience for you, where learning really sticks. We apply neuro-science based principles for teaching and training. We don't just provide you with information - but we facilitate the exchange of knowledge - and - create a playground where we can train skills. You will not only learn about concepts - but you apply them, reflect on them so that you truly understand the meta behind it. This way - it becomes more deeply rooted.

Our training is designed for optimal attention and retention.

During the R2M you will learn more about TBR-VE from your guides and you can always ask your guide to tell you more about it.

We also offer in-person, physical (and even outdoor) expeditions.
